“Step One is a first step in turning fear into hope; confusion into confidence. Early Intervention is not simply a program-it’s a philosophy of family centered care. It’s a program where professionals listen to what families need and affirm their choices. – Step One Family
Step One Early Intervention Program
Located in Quincy and serving clients from Quincy, Milton, and Randolph, Step One Early Intervention is available to families of infants and toddlers with special needs, including developmental disabilities, developmental delays, and environmental or biological risk factors.
The Aspire Health Alliance Step One team includes developmental educators, speech pathologists, social workers, licensed mental health counselors, teaching assistants, nurses, and physical, occupational, and music therapists. Working collaboratively with parents and outside care professionals, the team conducts developmental assessments, creates individual family service plans, and offers developmental and therapeutic intervention and ongoing education and support to enable families to best meet the needs of their children.
Step One Early Intervention provides services in the child’s home, our learning center, and in community settings, such as childcare centers, local libraries, and playgrounds.
At our learning center, group services are offered, including parent-baby and parent-toddler groups, where families can meet each week to support their child’s play, social-emotional interactions, and overall development while obtaining support from each other and their group leader.
Step One Regional Consultation Program
The Step One Regional Consultation Program serves children from birth through three years of age with significant medical and developmental needs. By providing training, consultation, and resource and referral services – the Step One Program assists families, early intervention programs, and community-based programs for young children in an effort to meet their needs within their communities’. The staff includes a special educator as well as consultants in the fields of nursing, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, and social work.
Every family looks forward to seeing a child’s first smile, first step, and first words. Regular screenings help raise awareness of a child’s development, making it easier to celebrate milestones and identify possible development concerns as early as possible.
